The CASCADAS Project: A Vision of Autonomic Self-organizing Component-ware for ICT Services

Autonomic computing and communications provides a basis for situated and self-aware service provision beyond that currently available, but also raises need demands in understanding how to organize, supervise and manage such service provision. This paper reports on the CASCADAS project, which brings together researchers in diverse areas to develop component-ware for such autonomic and adaptable services, and describes how the project relates to the wider theme of autonomic and situated solutions for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services.
