The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is an emerging standard for marking up and presenting wireless content targeted explicitly at small mobile handheld devices such as cell phones, pagers, and wireless access terminals. At its heart is the eXtensible HyperText Markup Language Mobile Profile (XHTML-MP), a subset of the XHTML standard tuned for wireless devices.
