SQL Server Integration Services was introduced with SQL Server 2005 to replace Data Transformation Services (DTS) in SQL Server 2000. An extract, transform, load (ETL) tool, Integration Services is designed to enable moving, manipulating, and cleaning data before loading into a transactional database, staging database, or other repository.
