GRAFL-II: user oriented science graphics

GRAFL-II is a small set of plotting routines able to produce 95% of the 2-dimensional figures and plots in the scientific literature from your Fortran code. The routines and their arguments have been designed to give extensive control over this type of picture with the minimum of fuss. We offer these 28 routines as a standard for the FORTRAN-based front end to any graphics library. The routines have been implemented on the MFECC computers to run the GRAFLIB and TV80LIB systems developed at Livermore. Although some of the coding uses low-level GRAFCORE routines it is sufficiently well commented to be easily modified or rewritten to drive other graphics libraries and enable codes to be transported more easily. A partial translation to drive the CERN graphics system has been made for use at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste.
