Text Mining Techniques to Support e-Democracy Systems.

E-democracy is a cognitive democracy oriented to the extraction and democratization of the knowledge related with the scientific resolution of public decision making problems associated with the governance of society. This paper presents a qualitative approach based in text mining tools to identify voting tendencies from the analysis of the messages and comments elicited by citizens through a collaborative tool (forum). The proposed methodology has been applied to a case study developed with students of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zaragoza and related with the potential location at the region of Aragon (Spain), of the greatest leisure project in Europe (Gran Scala).
