Transport Protocols and Client Server Applications

Peter Davids · 2007

Common protocol performance evaluation and measurement focus primarily on throughput. Apart from the fact that the maximum throughput of a protocol is not only influenced by the employed transport mechanisms but also by the quality of the protocol implementation and the performance of the machine, there is an other performance measure which is equally important: Transaction-rates in Client-Server application environments.
