Designing and Using an Audio-Visual Description Core Ontology

Antoine Isaac, Raphaël Troncy · 2004

Describing audio-visual contents necessitates appropriate terminologies and practices. In this paper, we detail the content of an audio-visual description core ontology that contains all the concepts and relationships necessary for a wide range of applications using the audiovisual descriptions. This ontology is based on well-established documentary practices and standardized vocabularies. We show how it can be linked to foundational ontologies and how it can be specialized for specific applications.
