SENSOR SYSTEMS AND SIGNAL PROCESSING FOR ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE

Karl Naab, Reiner Hoppstock · 1995

This paper presents some examples of special sensor systems and signal processing techniques. The purpose is to obtain information which will help overcome many of the driver limitations in information perception and in offering a situation dependent correct action. The following information is expected to be obtained from the sensor systems: 1) vehicle technical status; 2) status of the road surface; 3) status of the surrounding traffic; and, 4) the road course itself.
