Understanding Performance Optimization Methods

Charles Hooper, Randolf Geist · Apress eBooks · 2010

The range of performance-related information captured by default in an Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) is astounding, and the breadth and depth of that detail continues to grow with each release of the Oracle database product. As needed, the database administrator is able to enable greater precision with more tightly focused information capture to investigate a specific problem, isolate the cause, and develop a plan that either directly addresses the problem within the database instance, or sufficiently describes the problem for the application development team. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
