B. Yegnanarayana, K. V. Madhu Murthy, Hema A. Murthy · IETE Journal of Research · 1988

Group delay functions provide an alternative representation of signal information. The main features of group delay functions are the additive and high resolution properties. In this paper we show-the applications of these functions in speech processing. In particular, we show how these functions are helpful in spectral modelling, formant resolution and extraction, processing of noisy speech and spectral matching. This work relates to the theory and applications of group delay functions developed by the authors and their associates over the past ten years and reported in various journals and proceedings of conferences.
