QUESTOR, a Conversational Preprocessor to BMDP

D. Joop Kuik · 1984

QUESTOR is a modularly built program, serving as a conversational preprocessor to BMDP programs. It is query-oriented, recognizing two types of questions. The questions and all other relevant texts for communication are stored in one file. Special routines serve to handle the communication with the user. Extensive help facilities, also based on the central text-handling module and on the special tree-like query-structure of QUESTOR, are available. The structure of the text file is discussed. It can be manipulated, independent from the package. The way QUESTOR builds a control language file is discussed, and a sample run is given. Finally, a (short) discussion is given about the usefulness of a conversational statistical package like QUESTOR.
