I am grateful to many of my friends and collegues for the support that they have provided me whilst I have been at Caltech. Firstly, I would like thank my advisor Tom Hou for his patience and guidance, and for giving me the opportunity to develop. There were many times of great frustration during my research but somehow Tom had the foresite and wisdom, and above all faith in me, to know the there would indeed be a light at the end of the tunnel and I would reach it.
