60 GHz simple, short range communication system test

In intelligent vehicle and highway systems, intelligent vehicles must have communication equipment and radar sensors. The communication equipment is used to communicate with other vehicles or road-side base stations, and the radar sensors detect preceding vehicles on the road. Therefore, to be widely used in the future, this equipment must be economical. For economical equipment to become a reality in intelligent systems, a 60GHz simple, short-range system for vehicle communication is proposed. This equipment can be constructed using radar sensor equipment which can be used for both measuring distance to a preceding vehicle, and for communication to the same vehicle. This paper describes the 60GHz communication system for use in an intelligent vehicle and its test results.
