Task scheduling for a real time multiprocessor
J. W. Jordan · NASA Technical Reports Server (NASA) · 1970
This report describes an algorithm for scheduling real-time tasks in a multiprocessor system. The algorithm guarantees that the deadlines of all scheduled tasks will be met.If the number of active tasks exceeds the capa bility of the multiprocessor, then only the highest priority tasks will be scheduled. The algorithm is sub optimal in that it may fail to schedule one or more low-priority tasks which could be accommodated.A hard ware implementation of the algorithm is discussed..
