WHY is mathematics "the exact science"?Because of its self- imposed hmitations.Mathematics concerns itself, not with anY problem of the nature of things in themseU'es.but with the simpler problems of the relations between things.Starting from certain definite assumptions, the mathematician seeks only to arrive by legitimate processes at conclusions that are surely right if the
