In contents documents description framework, my thesis focuses in studying generic modeling of multimedia documents by metadata. We propose to homogenize the representation structures of such documents. Metadata on multimedia documents may help to describe their content and make their processing easier. Metadata is essentially static and may be associated with, or embedded in, the multimedia contents. multimedia documents annotation, based on modeling and unifying features elicited from content and structure mining. Any feature is identified into a descriptor called "meta-document". Temporal and spatial operators are also taken into account when annotating documents. However more factors should be considered in handling multimedia documents because they contain multimedia data and also have multiple complex structures such as hyperlink networks and spatial/temporal layout structures as well as logical structures. A query language based on the content and multiple complex structures like XQuery, can be applied for retrieving hypermedia document elements.
