Practical Aspects Regarding Implementation of Variable Speed Drives in Cooling Tower Fans

Abstract: The paper includes solutions for increasing the efficiency of the electrical energy consumption in chemical industry using the frequency converters for the automatic speed regulation for the cooling tower fans application. The motivation in implementing a new solution and the structure of the electrical equipment, together with experimental results are presented. Key-words: variable speed drive, frequency converter, energy savings.
