Heinz Stockinger · CERN Document Server (European Organization for Nuclear Research) · 1999

Data replication can basically be regarded as managing copies of data. In a replicated database where copies of the same data item are stored at multiple sites, replication can provide faster data access and fault tolerance. In the paper we present an introduction to the data replication problem and give a brief overview of recent replication research.
