The era of artificial intelligence is upon us… well, sort of. We’re still a very long way from AI being powerful enough to outthink humans; that will come with the eventual rollout of quantum computers. Even then, AI will not have the ability to reason the way we do. It won’t be able to make decisions and form opinions like humans can because it will be following a set of pre-programmed algorithms and not a “gut instinct.”
