Enterprise Agentic Technology Reference Architecture

Shivakumar R Goniwada · Apress eBooks · 2026

Conventional enterprise architecture is usually designed around predictable and deterministic control flows, where a request enters the system, a workflow follows predefined steps, a service produces a response, and the system returns to its normal state. This model works well when the process is clearly defined, the rules are stable, and the expected outcome is known in advance. However, when AI becomes part of the core architecture, this predictability begins to change because decisions are no longer purely rule-based, knowledge is no longer static, and execution is no longer limited predefined steps.
