Enchan(cosmic): A Physics-based Optimization Engine for Large-scale Ising Models

Mitsuhiro Kobayashi · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) · 2025

Enchan(cosmic) is a deterministic, physics-inspired optimization engine based on continuous relaxation dynamics for Ising-model and Max-Cut problems. Discrete spins are relaxed into continuous field variables and evolved through a nonlinear dissipative process toward low-energy configurations. The paper reports local and cloud benchmarks on standard classical hardware, including a sparse 10,000-node graph, and compares the reported convergence behavior and runtime with heuristic baselines. Its central computational claim is reproducible deterministic relaxation without stochastic sampling. Scope and review focus: This record documents the benchmark study and its reported results; it does not establish a computational-complexity improvement or physical confirmation of the Enchan Field. Review is especially invited on benchmark construction, baseline comparability, energy and cut-quality reporting, runtime accounting, determinism, and whether the archived materials are sufficient to reproduce the stated results. The record contains the paper PDF, README, and benchmark figures. The public API and repository referenced by the manuscript are external services and should be evaluated separately from the archived record. Version: v1.2 (December 2025). The algorithm and physical equations are reported as unchanged from v1.1; this revision documents runtime-transparency and implementation updates. Version: v1.3 (September 2026). First published in December 2025. This revision adds explicit bibliography and benchmark-provenance documentation, including the synthetic graph definition, frozen random seed, baseline implementation, and execution environment. It also clarifies that no third-party solver source code, executables, proprietary libraries, or third-party benchmark datasets are bundled in the archived materials. The reported benchmark values and the Enchan(cosmic) algorithm are unchanged from the preceding release.
