Abstract: Statistics serves as a fundamental base and theoretical foundation of artificial intelligence (AI), data science and engineering. The rapid growth in industrial, scientific and technological domains around the world has produced enormous data for which a robust analytical framework is required. Statistical methods provide such a framework to turn the data into reliable decisions through predictive modelling, uncertainty quantifying and probabilistic reasoning. These methods support machine learning in AI, enable systematic analysis in data science and ensure quality control in engineering. This chapter presents statistics as a universal thread that unfolds behind major innovations in AI, data science and engineering. It explains the role of statistics in modern developments such as generative AI, large language models (LLMs) and explainable AI (XAI) through empirical examples and an illustrative case study. The statistical engine of revolution has been shown diagrammatically to argue that statistics is not just an auxiliary tool but a foundational step of social change. The study also highlights the importance of statistical methods as a vital infrastructure for advancement, where the successful application of such methods depends on the implementation of secure and resilient systems. The chapter ends with opportunities for future research at the intersection of statistics and these areas. Keywords: Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Machine Learning
