Numerous studies have examined Generative AI tools and their intended uses. Yet, there is no scale to measure the effectiveness of these tools in terms of their success. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Gen AI Tool Success (GenAITS) Scale. To achieve this objective, the study adopts the Information System Success Model (ISSM). This study follows a rigorous scale development and validation process to identify, develop, and validate a 32-item GenAITS scale across six core dimensions of ISSM: system quality, information quality, service quality, usage intention, user satisfaction, and net benefit. The items were generated based on an extensive literature review and subsequently validated by experts. Data were collected from users with prior experience using GenAI tools through purposive and convenience sampling. Further, the scale was refined through a series of validity and reliability assessments. The findings provide preliminary evidence of the reliability and validity of the GenAITS scale; however, additional refinement and validation are warranted. The proposed scale offers a framework for assessing the success of GenAI tools and contributes to future research and practical evaluation across diverse domains.
