Vision in the Age of AI
Sergio Alati · 2026
AI isn’t a monster lurking in the shadows or a magic wand ready to fix everything; it’s a tool that’s powerful, fast, and dangerously easy to overuse. If we don’t lead with intention and think about both the possibilities and the parameters, AI will quietly steal the struggle, grit, and cognitive sweat that make learning and leadership worth anything in the first place. Leading in the age of AI means setting guardrails, protecting the messy human work, and refusing the shortcuts that weaken our muscles and our culture. It’s about staying curious, asking the big questions about urgency, opportunities, and risks, and playing the long game – even as AI sprints ahead two steps faster than we can blink. Above all, strong AI-era leadership isn’t about chasing the shiny new thing; it’s about keeping humans firmly in the driver’s seat and safeguarding the values, creativity, and humanity that no algorithm can replicate.
