Jessica Coyle · QUBES · 2026
This is a set of teaching materials adapted from Data Carpentry lessons that teaches biologists basic data science and computing skills using data from the National Ecological Observation Network. Exercises are adapted from Data Carpentry for Biologists. It is under active development. The current version is a website hosted on GitHub pages. The next version will likely be a Quarto document. Collaborators are welcome. Chapter quizzes are included in this resource as separate RStudio projects. These can be hosted on a collaborative coding platform, such as Posit Cloud for Instructors and Students, which allows students to make and edit individual copies that their instructor can view and comment on.
