User experience (UX) is a multifaceted concept. The design aspects that contribute to a high level of UX in an application can vary significantly depending on several factors, such as the technology used to build the user interface, specific use cases, and the characteristics of the target audience, among others. Standardized UX questionnaires were designed to quantitatively measure the UX of applications. To yield reliable results, these questionnaires must account for diverse factors that influence UX by incorporating appropriate scales and items. Consequently, a large number of specialized questionnaires have been developed for different domains, making it challenging for UX researchers to select the most suitable ones for their projects. In this paper, we provide a review of established standardized UX questionnaires and offer heuristics to assist researchers in choosing the most appropriate questionnaire to achieve their desired outcomes in specific projects.
