Computation on an infinite abacus.

This thesis investigates some of the properties of a primitive form of computer known as the infinite abacus . The discussion is based on a paper (1, Bibliography) by Professor Joachim Lambek of McGill University, whose assistance and kindness I gratefully acknowledge. I shall develop the theory from its beginnings, not presupposing any acquaintance with this paper.
