In digital entertainment, video games have become integral to daily life. However, sustaining players’ interests poses a significant challenge for gaming. This paper explores the impact of cognitive load on gaming experiences in natural interactions. We present an innovative approach by developing adaptive adjustment frameworks that monitor players’ cognitive load in real time and intelligently adjust interactions to enhance gaming experiences. The findings underscore the efficacy of our framework in enhancing user engagement, serving as a versatile tool capable of improving user attention and cognitive abilities. This adaptive framework offers essential guidelines for game developers to craft immersive experiences. In addition, it can be used to personalize cognitive rehabilitation training, extending the duration of a patient’s attention span and aligning the intensity of the training with the patient’s specific needs and preferences.
