Six Dial Security (6DS) Whitepaper

Security programs often deploy strong controls but still fail at the moment of operation. The problem is not always the absence of controls. It is frequently the misalignment of trust conditions across identity, device, network, application, data, and monitoring. This whitepaper introduces Six Dial Security (6DS), a practitioner-driven security framework that models cybersecurity as a six-dial combination lock. In this model, Trusted Operation becomes possible only when all six domains are present, aligned, and operationally sustainable for the same action. The paper defines the six domains, describes three recurring failure modes, and explains how 6DS can be used to evaluate real operational flows. 6DS is not proposed as a replacement for Zero Trust. It is proposed as an operational framing that helps practitioners identify structural gaps, weak assurance states, and security designs that break normal work.
