This thesis investigates the applicability of Fault Injection Analysis (FIA) to candidates of the CAESAR and LWC competition, by the application of state-of-the-art fault attacks. Furthermore, this thesis proposes a countermeasure called Domain Oriented Masking with REPetition codes (DOMREP) which is designed to protect cryptographic implementations against FIA and Side-Channel Analysis (SCA) by an approach which allows scaling the order of protection freely.
