The Iowa State University Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE) has been engaged in research to develop the capability of parallel computing for their existing numerical modeling programs. This research was motivated by many needs within the CNDE to decrease the execution time of current and future programs so that results can be obtained in a more reasonable time. The other motivation was to run programs for the same amount of time but obtain higher accuracy or more accurate modeling by increasing the problem size in some way.
