Ahead Informed (AI)

Artificial intelligence will be transformative and disruptive. Already, some of the side effects of this new technology are being felt. This chapter summarizes some of the important sources of concern. The three concerns that seem most prevalent in the literature are: the elimination of jobs, AI used for evil purposes, and having AI take over the world. Additional concerns addressed here include bias in data, AI washing, AI and security, AI and data, AI and cheating, AI and society, AI and ethics, and AI education. Society is being reactive to the challenges that AI poses, when the reality is that we must be proactive.
