The use of Artificial Intelligence in processing applications is expanding rapidly. Unfortunately, for real-time process control, those methodologies which deal with symbolic representation of data and information are not always fast enough to provide effective decision-making. The structure of conventional AI tools is an inefficient environment to embed complex mathematical functions.
