In a modern era where digital education is rapidly transforming traditional learning paradigms, the security of digital content and user data on e-learning platforms has become a significant concern, as e-learning platforms become increasingly integrated into education systems worldwide. This chapter aims to explore the multifaceted challenges surrounding cybersecurity in e-learning environments, highlighting the threats posed to digital content and the measures necessary to mitigate these risks. This chapter discusses the various forms of security threats that e-learning platforms face, including phishing, malicious software, data theft, and data breaches. It also discusses resistance-related aspects such as robust measures to protect the information. Security enhancement strategies and techniques will be discussed, along with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), which are developing at a rapid pace. The use of online videos and other tools for educational purposes has been emphasizing to showcase the importance of security and trust when dealing with and transferring data online, thus exploring various dimensions of cybersecurity and understanding prevalent threats to implementing best practices for technological solutions. Therefore, this chapter addresses legal and regulatory considerations that impact cybersecurity in education, highlighting the need for compliance with established standards like cyber essentials and other relevant frameworks.
