ABSTRACT The field of Earth Surface System (ESS) research has generated a massive volume of open scientific data, characterized by multidimensionality, multiscale properties, and high complexity. Traditional methods for evaluating the degree of data sharing often suffer from incomplete evaluation index systems and excessive reliance on expert knowledge. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation method for the degree of ESS open scientific data sharing based on combined weighting and a cloud model. First, a novel combined weighting method is proposed, integrating an improved Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process with the Entropy Weight Method to balance subjective expert judgment and objective data characteristics. Second, a cloud model evaluation strategy is introduced, employing a forward cloud generator and an adaptive weight adjustment mechanism to address uncertainties in the evaluation process. The proposed method quantitatively evaluates the degree of open scientific data sharing in our dataset, helping researchers identify and utilize high‐quality data.
