Web development of online e-shop

For my Final Year Project, I designed and built Yak Munchies, an e-commerce website that makes it easy for pet owners to shop for natural dog treats made from Himalayan yak milk. The main goal was to create a smooth, secure, and responsive online shopping experience for users, while also ensuring the backend was easy to manage for admins. The site was developed using Next.js (built on React) with TypeScript and I integrated Directus CMS for managing dynamic content. Stripe handles the payment side of things, offering a secure checkout process. For deployment and hosting, I used AWS and Vercel to ensure scalability and fast load times. Styling was done with UnoCSS alongside custom CSS to keep the look clean and modern. Key features include product listings, a shopping cart system and real time inventory syncing. I also ran performance tests using Google PageSpeed Insights, and the results were good, scoring over 90 on desktop and above 80 on mobile. These scores show that the site is well optimized and responsive. This project gave me hands on experience with full stack development, cloud deployment and e-commerce integration. It also helped me grow in areas like user experience design and building systems that are not just functional but also intuitive and easy to maintain.
