This chapter discusses the emergence of artificial intelligence and how it impacts autistic individuals. The introduction of artificial intelligence has significantly complicated our ability to discern authentic human content from machine learning, especially for individuals on the autism spectrum. As a result, artificial online personas can be misinterpreted as genuine human interaction, influence individuals susceptible to disinhibited behavior, and lead to increased empathy deficits and difficulty perceiving criminal activity.
