Topological Oversight: A New Framework for Adaptive AI Moderation Systems
Abdolrahimzadeh, Ramin · Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) · 2025
This article introduces a topological framework for intelligent moderation and adaptive oversight in artificial intelligence systems. Inspired by recent challenges in aligning AI behavior with human intent, the model suggests a dynamic structure in which user behavior, trust evolution, and system responsiveness are mapped as continuous trajectories within a topological space. Constructive users are progressively granted greater access and flexibility, while adversarial patterns trigger automated containment strategies. The system adapts oversight based on behavioral signals, promoting responsible engagement. The framework is especially relevant for platforms such as OpenAI, which must balance accessibility with safety, and for leading nations in AI governance. It offers a path toward ethical, scalable, and scientifically grounded AI oversight that not only deters misuse but also encourages constructive contribution and collaborative learning.
