The automotive sector has increasingly adopted electronic systems to improve engine efficiency. A key component is the Engine Control Unit (ECU), which enhances driveability and fuel economy by precisely managing fuel injection timing and spark advance. This study presents the design of an ECU for internal combustion engines, incorporating task-oriented architecture to optimize control processes. Algorithmic flowcharts are proposed to illustrate the control logic. Experimental validation using a microcontroller and a JimStim simulation board confirms the feasibility of the theoretical approach. The results support the development of reliable firmware for future ECU application.
