Scheduling and Allocation in High-Level Synthesis

Jurij Šilc · 1994

The high-level synthesis task is to take a specification of the behavior required of a system and a set of constraints and goals to be satisfied, and to find a structure that implements the behavior while satisfying the goals and constraints. This paper is concentrates on scheduling and allocatin which seems to be the most important tasks during the synthesis. In particular, some of the basic scheduling/allocation techniques are discussed and a new scheduling/allocation approach is presented.
