Grid Arrays for Multiplication
Alice I. Robold · The Arithmetic Teacher · 1983
Arrays are often used as excellent models for beginning multiplication examples, but sometimes are put aside when they become unwieldy for greater factors. L earners. therefore. may be deprived of the benefits of array models just when they need help with more challenging examples. The use of grid arrays, made from paper marked in squares, allows the learner to continue to benefit from array model and to follow a logical sequence of multiplication experiences.
