A multimode programming strategy for VLSI boards

Peter Reinhard Hansen · International Test Conference · 1984

Achieving high fault coverage on VLSI boards is increasingly difficult with existing hardware and software tools. In-circuit testers cannot detect an important percentage of existing faults. Functional testers are difficult to program, resulting in long start-up delays and high programming costs. This paper describes an innova tive programming strategy for modern microprocessor boards which uses a combination of new and existing hardware and software tools to increase fault coverage and reduce programming effort.
