USING DYNAMIC SEGMENTATION TO INTEGRATE TRANSPORTATION MODELING NETWORKS WITH GIS

S M Perone · 1997

Merging data between two transportation systems presents numerous challenges because the transportation modeling networks are generally not identically matched to their true spatial form. This paper creates a linear event system for an EMME/2 network on an ArcInfo TIGER street coverage. This process demonstrates the sharing of data among transportation networks through the use of a linear referencing system. The technique presented by this paper overcomes a number of problems usually encountered by modeling software packages.
