As the volume of traffic on the roads continues to increase at an alarming pace, there is a greater need than ever for modern telematic systems. Traffic control systems are necessary to improve the efficiency, performance and reliability of road traffic. Advanced Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) based on the European CEN TC278 standard for microwave dedicated short range (DSRC) communication presents itself as appropriate remedy.
