NEW CONCEPT FOR A UNIVERSAL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (UTMS)

UTMS is a system which aims at synthetic and upgraded traffic management including, for example, keeping the priority right of urgent vehicles, the punctuality of public traffic, protection of the environment, etc. Its main part is the Integrated Traffic Control System (ITCS), the upgraded traffic control system. ITCS will be realized by the optimum control of the traffic signal control system, the traffic information supply system using various means, and the development of a low cost traffic data acquisition system.
