IMPROVING MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS WITH GPS

This article describes a new mobile communications technology, known as code division multiple access (CDMA), which virtually eliminates common transmission problems associated with conventional cellular communications systems. High-precision GPS (Global Positioning System)-based timing plays in integral role in making these improvements possible.
