AN OPTICALLY GUIDED BUS
Anne F. Eisenberg · 2001
Ten new buses being built for delivery to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2003 are going to be steered not by people, but by an autopilot system that includes interconnected cameras, computers and motors. The human drivers of these optically guided buses will still brake, accelerate and shake their heads when someone cuts them off. But they will turn control of their steering wheel over to a camera mounted on the dashboard that is aimed at high-contrast markings painted on a lane on the roadway
