The Verification of Merchant Registration in SET Protocol

The Merchant Registration in the Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) protocol is presented and its formal analysis is described.Based on the analysis, this paper unveils some potential vulnerabilities of SET.Such vulnerabilities have been identified when ENDL (extension of non-monotonic logic) is applied to verify the Merchant Registration in SET protocol.To our knowledge, this is the first attempt to analyze the Merchant Registration.Also, we present the modeling of the Merchant Registration for the purpose of mechanically model checking.
