ON-BOARD REAL TIME ASSISTANCE DRIVING SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
B. El-Eter, Michèle Rombaut · 1993
This paper describes the architecture of an on-board real time system which helps the driver drive more safely. The work has been carried out as part of the Prometheus programme and it constitutes the demonstrator. The functions of the Prolab2 demonstrator are presented first, as is its functional architecture. The Dynamic Data Manager (DDM), whose function is to analyse and process the information required by the driving aid system is then presented. Special attention is given to: a) data flow control; b) the DDM-fusion interface, which deals with communications control between the system and the sensors; c) the DDM copilot interface; d) data dating; e) data extending; and f) security.
