Recent developments in automotive instrumentation

This paper presents a survey of electronic instrumentation which has been introduced into vehicles released onto the world market during the last 3 years. Typical samples from America, Europe, Japan and Australia are shown, the relative sophistication of the instruments compared, the choice of display technology, the necessary electronic components together with the circuitary explained, and the design parameters and method of construction analysed.
